The renowned director, famous for films like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, expressed his disillusionment with modern cinema, stating that since the pandemic, he finds it almost impossible to enjoy new releases.

In his candid assessment, Tarantino noted that "flaws, implausibilities, audience pandering, miscast performers or just plain stupid shit usually torpedoes every new movie coming out of the flavourless sausage factory that used to call itself Hollywood." He contrasted this with his experience of 1980s cinema, which he found forgivable because he "loved going to the movies," whereas today's films "inspire contempt in me than generosity."

However, he lamented that he has seen "nothing that really held me in its grip and swept me away to the magical land of enjoyment that I used to visit regularly."
