Saharan Dust Envelops Crete, Turning the Island Orange

A massive Saharan dust storm has swept over the Greek island of Crete, turning the island orange as the dust particles fill the air.

The phenomenon, which occurs when strong winds pick up large amounts of dust from the Sahara Desert, has reduced visibility and caused disruptions across the island.

Residents and tourists alike have been advised to stay indoors and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary.
