Some experts cite the scale of the heat-related death toll as a worthy reason to use more air conditioning – particularly for the most vulnerable groups – even if it pushes temperatures higher.This year, the UK's Climate Change Committee (CCC) recommended that air conditioning be installed in all care homes and hospitals within the next 10 years, and in all schools within 25 years.Personal Safety StrategiesThe simplest advice is to stay out of the heat: avoid going outside during the hottest parts of the day, and stay in the shade if you have to.
