"While I am in favour of eliminating zero-hours contracts in most sectors, the new rules are tricky for retail, because the risk is you then have to contract for those hours forever," he explained.More than a million people in the UK are currently working on a zero-hours contract basis, spanning hospitality, warehouses, and even the NHS.
