Following the IPO, members of the public will be able to buy and sell SpaceX shares on the stock exchange. Why is the SpaceX IPO such a Big Deal? It is widely expected to be the largest IPO in history, and is likely to make Musk the world’s first trillionaire. The firm is aiming to raise upwards of $80bn for a market valuation of between $1.75 trillion and $2 trillion, according to media reports. Anthropic's preferred and common stock are subject to transfer restrictions, which means any share sale or transfer not approved by its board of directors will be considered invalid. The Rise of Secondary Markets The update comes alongside a rise in the number of investment platforms offering exposure to AI companies' shares (and thus their growth) via secondary markets where existing shareholders sell their shares, "tokenized" securities, special purpose vehicles (SPVs), or secondary market holdings. Anthropic, rumored to be raising fresh funding at a $900 billion valuation, has especially been in demand. The Impact on Investors Over the past year, some crypto companies, like crypto exchange OKX, have spun up investment products selling exposure to AI companies. These often take the form of pre-IPO perpetual futures contracts, which are derivative instruments that track the value of private companies on secondary markets but don't offer ownership of actual shares. SPVs are different from those derivative systems, offering investors a chance to buy shares of an entity that holds at least some stake in Anthropic. The Future Outlook Anthropic says it does not permit special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to acquire Anthropic stock and any transfer of shares to an SPV are void under its transfer restrictions. "Offers to invest in Anthropic's past or future financing rounds through an SPV are prohibited."

The Billionaire Dividend The analysis also found billionaires were paid $2,500 a second in dividends in 2025, according to the investment portfolios of more than 1,000 billionaires. For every two hours in 2025, the average billionaire received more in dividends than the average worker earned in annual pay. The Impact on Inequality Inequality in the US was worse than the global average, with CEO pay increasing 20.4 times faster than worker pay in 2025. For 384 CEOs in the S&P; 500 where CEO compensation data was available, pay increased by 25% from 2024 to 2025, while average hourly earnings for workers at private companies increased 1.3% in the same period. The Call for Change “This analysis exposes the billionaire coup against democracy and its costs for working people,” said Luc Triangle, general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation. “Companies promise us a virtuous cycle, but what we see is a vicious cycle led by mega corporations – they undermine collective bargaining and social dialogue while billionaire CEOs capture the wealth created by productivity gains.” The Proposed Solution “We can’t continue to let a handful of super-rich people siphon off the rewards of work that belong to millions. Governments must cap CEO pay, fairly tax the super-rich and ensure minimum wages at the very least keep pace with inflation and ensure a dignified living,” said Amitabh Behar, executive director of Oxfam International. “These measures can do far more than redistribute income; they can create economies that reward work, invest in communities and hold powerful interests accountable.”
